Apple Cider Turkey Gravy
I am so in love with this gravy. Whenever I make a whole oven roasted turkey or my easy roasted turkey breast I always make this easy turkey gravy recipe. It doesn’t matter if I am making a holiday meal or just a simple dinner for my family on a weeknight, if I am making turkey then I am making this amazing, easy homemade turkey gravy.
When you see how easy it is to make your own gravy and how much better it tastes then using jarred gravy or those gravy packets in the store you will never waste money on them again!

Tips for Making Turkey Gravy
Easily double or triple this recipe. This recipe normal serves 2-4 people so if you would like to feed more people all you have to do it double or triple your recipe. If you don’t have a lot of pan drippings you can ways use some turkey or chicken stock from the store.
Not enough Turkey fat, use butter. If you don’t have enough fat from you pan drippings you can use butter to stretch out the turkey fat.
Not enough turkey drippings, use turkey stock. If you do not have enough drippings in your roasting pan from baking the turkey you can use turkey stock as well.
How to Store Gravy
Allow the gravy to cool completely, then store in the fridge in an airtight container. It will keep in the fridge for 3-4 days.
How to Freeze Homemade turkey gravy
If you want to freeze homemade turkey gravy you can, allow it to cool completely and pour into plastic freezer bags. Squeeze the air out while you close the bag and then lay it flat on a baking sheet. Stick the baking sheet in the freezer. Once the gravy is frozen you can remove the baking sheet and store the gravy in the freezer for up to 3 months.
How to thicken gravy
If you find the gravy thinner then you like it all you have to do is add a little bit of flour and water to a bowl and mix them together, I do double the water to flour ratio and normally use 1-2 tablespoons max of flour. Then slowly add the flour and water mixture to the gravy and mix well. Then watch the gravy to see it thicken. Gravy will always thicken after you remove it from the heat and it can quickly go from nice thick gravy to overly floury so you have to be cautious when you are adding more flour to your gravy while it cooks.

How to Make Apple Cider Turkey Gravy
Pour the drippings from the roasting pan into a glass cup and allow to sit for 1 minute to cool down a bit.
Spoon off 1 tablespoon of the fat that floats to top and place it in a small saucepan over medium heat and stir in flour to form a paste. If you do not have much fat that comes to the top you can use butter in place of the turkey fat.
Continue to stir the paste for 1 minute.
Slowly stir in apple cider and mix well with the paste.
Spoon off and discard any remaining fat from the top of the turkey juices in the glass. Then stir the turkey juices into the pan with the apple cider and mix well.
Continue cooking and stir frequently until the gravy thickens, which should take about 3 to 4 minutes.
Taste and season salt and pepper until you get your desired flavoring.
