1.The Living History Farm
One of the crown jewels of Landmark Park is the Living History Farm, a adventure that transports its visitors back to a time of the rural South in the 1890s. This recreated farmstead provides a hands-on view and exploration of agricultural practices, domestic life, and daily activities from the turn of the century.
As you stroll through the farm, you’ll encounter various buildings including a family house, school house, church building, general store, drug store, log cabin and outbuildings including a blacksmith shop.
You will be blessed to see farm livestock including cattle, sheep, pigs and chickens. Be amazed at the large windmill in the park and fascinated by the growing of the sugar cane.
Take a moment to reflect on how life was with its challenges and triumphs in the late 19th century.
2. Alabama Agricultural Museum
The Alabama Agricultural Museum features farm life artifacts of the 1890’s. They also have a gift shop available for you to browse for that special memento of your visit. The museum is open from Wednesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sundays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
