Really hard question for me. And a good one.

I always think about it too. Jujutsu Kaisen has always more complex and wide story and various characters. The world-building is good, curse and sorcery techniques are lovable.

But on the otherhand, I like the Chainsaw Man idea more. I don't know, even the "Chainsaw Man" is an absurd thing in the first place :D and i think this kind of strange ideas are unique.

For action, absolutely Chainsaw Man. That is certain. In general i love both of them almost equally but in the end of the day, I'd say Chainsaw Man, I guess.

If we're going by the storyline alone, I'd say Chainsaw Man is a lot more interesting and intriguing than JJK.

The latter has more compelling characters, though.

I've started with Chainsaw Man, when I thought this manga would be finished in 97th chapter I began to read Jujutsu Kaisen. Both are interesting series, but each manga have a certain amount of style and storytelling about them.

Gege Akutami I don't know another other work, but Tatsuki Fujimoto's Fire Punch have a insane impression on me, I really like the apparent controlled chaos created by things in the first chapters can be called "I'm edgy, I want make shock value in a teenager manga", but on the intensity run of volumes, the thing change to a food chapter or a heaven like theater.

Well, I really like the idea behind the Jujutsu sorcerers and I feel much pain in the Shibuya Incident Arc - when this will be end?

I hope Fujimoto sensei don't feel tired of the Chainsaw Man world, sometimes I think he could have made another ending for Fire Punch if he was another mangaka. Sorry for my bad writing.

This is what a rip-off looks like - Fairy Tail ripping-off One Piece.

Bruh Gojo sensei is literally a Kakashi rip off.I think you are watchng a different.Gojo-senei also has band around his eyes as well as Kakashi.Gojo-senei reveals his eye by removing is band later in the series as well as Gojo-sensei.They both have hot eyes. How can you not call that a rip off?
Jujutsu Kaisen has been HEAVILY inspired by Bleach. In JJL humans can't see demons but the demons can eat them and the Jujutsu Sorcerors have to protect them.THE SAME HAPPENS IN BLEACH TOO.
Jujutsu Kaisen:Can I copy your homework?
Bleach and Naruto:Sure, just change it up a little.

A rip-off is when it's evident and that the rip-off in on itself it's hard to get made.

If you create a story, you have to create a strong or weak protagonist. If he is strong, you should make it possible that he is not in full control of his powers and that he needs someone to teach him how to use them correctly - if he is weak and you still need someone to make him strong for one reason or another since he's needed to the story. There are variations to this, but it is the general premise of every shonen.

It is then that Gojo enters the scene becoming the protagonist's sensei and because of that, he cannot be a Kakashi rip-off since his role is too common for him to be considered one. Anyone could come up with his character and that he's ultimately needed. It hasn't been explained yet but the reason he's blindfolded is something that has to do with his powers - a restraint mechanism. Perhaps there are hints on that in the story, though.

In JJL humans can't see demons but the demons can eat them and the Jujutsu Sorcerors have to protect them

That's very normal storytelling to every demon-like work - no one can actually rip-off each other.

Chainsaw Man easily.
I read both manga (but not whole) and Chainsaw Man is far superior.
JJK sticks too much to it’s shounen tropes that it’s destroying it, bland villains that are just bad cause the plot needs it.
On the other hand, CSM is realistically a senien, in a sense that it’s more mature so the conversations are much better, but the key thing is, that CSM plot is basically just a huuuuuge scheme done by the antagonist, everything from episode/chapter 1 is planned by the antagonist who is actually not a villain, the antagonist is the hero.
CSM is amazing because the whole plot is genuinely intelligent with the way it moves things to align for the grand reveal/twist.

I hate Jujutsu Kaisen's manga and like Chainsaw Man's one. So Chainsaw Man, just because Jujutsu Kaisen's storyline is so boring, unoriginal and drags a lot for me while Chainsaw Man is a lot more interesting and just fun, despite its unorthodox nature and dumb moments.

Jujutsu Kaisen for me. Chainsaw Man can be entertaining for all it is worth, but the nonsensical and ludicrousness wasn’t worth enough for me overall despite a few nice chapters here and there. Feels more like a more flamboyant Tokyo Ghoul, tbh.

Jujutsu Kaisen actually has a more sophisticated plot and compelling characters going on, even though it does initially feel quite dull and allegedly “unoriginal” (idk why people keep saying this when true originality is next to non-existent). I will say that I enjoy the anime much more than the manga, though.

JJK is one of the most unoriginal anime i've seen, no personality at all, tries to copy Naruto but doesn't have an interesting concept and abilities, tries to copy Bleach but doesn't have an interesting world and characters, tries to copy YuYu Hakusho but isn't cool enough, copy, copy, copy, nowadays any kind of dark shonen anime will be successful, KnY is one of the most meh anime i've seen in recent times, still, it is currently the biggest one in the entire world.

JJK is the new Black Clover.

It's amazing how some people here fail to understand what an original story is really supposed to mean, but that's beside the point of the topic.

I think Chainsaw Man for me has an upper hand against JJK, but just because CSM is Tarantino as f*ck. Though JJK has better characters and concepts.

You were asking at Chainsawman forum page so yeah of course the majority of answers would say that CSM is better.
And for me i think both are equally good, but i liked CSM more because of the character, it's more uniqeu and written quite well like makima, denji, power and aki. many says that JJK have more better and compelling character but i've seen nothing special (caharacter-wise) from JJK except mahito and toji. Ah yeah gojo? He's nothing but just your typical overpowered shounen character, but people loved him because "Ugh So CooL hE's OverpOweRed reeee!!!"

I really dunno about that, OP doesn't always means cool that's for sure. I probably wouldn't find him cool if he didn't did what he did in E7 for sure but even before that I already found him pretty good and interesting character

haven't read Jujutsu Kaisen manga yet but Chainsaw Man was way more original and interesting to me. I enjoyed this manga a lot more than the 10ish episodes of Jujustu Kaisen so far which is saying a lot as I tend to find anime more engaging than manga. not entirely convinced that reading the Jujutsu Kaisen manga will change my stance on this but I'll probably still give it a shot once the first season finishes airing.

Chainsaw Man is great because it flipped the idea of a battle shounen all over its head and had a story that is both zanier and more mature than the rest of the WSJ titles published with it.

JJK is great because it had a lot of the elements of its predecessors (Naruto's character writing, One Piece's world building, Bleach's tone and HxH's power scaling) and integrated those elements to great effect. Sure people may find JJK to tread along the lines of cliche storytelling, but setting aside all biases from its contemporaries and you'll see it as an engaging read that it is.

Overall, Chainsaw Man has a lot more potential than JJK, especially with its second part moving to SJ+, but JJK is a lot more developed as a series than CM is. I can't choose which story is better, but I can choose which one I enjoy more, and that is Chainsaw Man 100%.

Chainsaw Man stands head and shoulders above JJK until *that* moment in CSM chapter 81. After that the plot goes completely off the rails and it's all downhill from there (except for the Burger King chapter. That was the funniest sh*t I've ever seen in manga)

Chainsaw Man. I think the advantage is that it's a short series (by now since it will get a sequel) that did everything right and coherent in less than 100 chapters with its lore, magic system, character development and storytelling. Jujutsu Kaisen is great too, I love its strategic HxH-influenced battles and the current arc is phenomenal, but its first arcs are not that remarkable and were not different from the average battle shonen series. I like the characters tho and it's overall nicely executed. I think it's getting better, but again, I prefer CSM.

I personally prefer CSM over JJK. JJK feels a lot like something we've already seen before. It also feels needlessly wordy/complex at times. Like, the whole "explaining your attacks creates a contract and strengthens it" thing..really? I also haven't felt that attached with the characters, also someone compared it's world building to One Piece and that just is so far from the truth lol

While I have only read up to chapter 53, I can safely say that CSM is way better than JJK in every way possible. CSM is a work with a lot of soul and passion, while JJK just feels like a trite and uninspired rehash of older shounens, with hardly any trace of identity.

they have similar premises involving the main character taking in a supernatural creature and being forced to hunt supernatural creatures in modern times also they are both being published in shonen jump alongside each other if they are mostly different I'd say they are equally similar enough to validate a comparison of sorts even if they aren't the exact same

also both stories have monsters which are tied to human emotions with Devils being strengthened by human fear of that particular devils name while in JJK curses are born from human negativity

First things first JJk unlike Chainsawman so this is taking that into account and its privy to change later on

Chainsawman might be better but a lot of that is because its insane and fast all the way through while also being kinda childish and immature with its comedy (not an insult) which makes the story seem like its not taking itself seriously which makes it also feel less edgy but in terms of leaving me with things to chew on in terms of themes and such I much prefer Tatsuki's other work Fire Punch

JJK is more likely going to be some slow burn shonen

If Mappa give the animators enough time as much as they give for Jujutsu Kaisen, then Chainsaw Man might get even more attention than JJK.

This one is pretty tough honestly, I might just go with Chainsaw Man low difference. Jujutsu Kaisen has better writing, but Chainsaw Man is way more entertaining to me honestly. Also both mangas are great imo. Overall I'd say they're equal in terms of all that.

The one thing that makes CSM better is... the character Makima.
